ACC cuts Physiotherapist Funding

Well the decision has been made to save money and cut the funding for Physiotherapy "Well" just shows what I mean, rather than cut organizational costs ACC chooses to decrease claimant services. Lets put this into real focus, ACC pays 80% of your weekly income if you cant return to work that in these days it is a an automatic loss of 20% of your income.

Then on top of that you have to pay for thing's ACC don't provide i.e. if you mowed your own lawns and you now have to get some one in ACC don't pay for this. Because you are now at home all day your fuel costs etc; increase you have your heating etc; on longer. so when you really work it out the 80% you get realistically is only arround 35% of your earnings. to top this you still pay Tax and income related ACC levies.

Are New Zealander's really benefiting from the scheme?

Yes if you have deep pockets and a good lawyer. Which is funny because ACC's founding principal was to "negate the need for lengthily legal litigation" and to reduce the stress and distress of "legal litigation".

The amount of money wasted on getting specialists to approve something i.e. a piece of equipment or adaptation to make life easier for the client is criminal. When you work it out an item that costs $90.00 to provide costs approximately 6 or 7 hundred dollars when the specialist sees you and says yes you need one. When often your Dr or physiotherapist has already concluded you need one and ACC has often paid for that consultation.

Many thing's that are common sense in relation to a persons impairment have to go through this process. Then because it is declined etc; then the lawyers start earning then it escalates into thousands of dollars.

Get real ACC save money use your common sense !!!
